Audio Visual Entrainment (AVE) is a key component to the in office and at home experience.  With the use of flashing lights and pulsing tones BrainCore AVE can guide the brain into any brainwave pattern thus facilitating the neurofeedback process.

Brainwave Entrainment

The electrical signals travelling along the neurons in the brain produce brainwaves.  There are four types of brainwaves produced based upon the signals that are being communicated.  Each of these brain waves are distinguished based upon their frequency range and represent a different state of mind.   Brain wave frequency is defined as the number of times per second the wave repeats itself. You can read more about brainwaves here.

The goal of neurofeedback is to normalize brainwave patterns by training the brain to produce less or more of certain brainwaves.

Brainwave entrainment involves the use of pulsing tones and flashing lights to direct the brain to produce a certain brainwave. The AVE device includes a set of glasses that have flashing lights along the frame and a set of headphones attached to the main device.  We can use the QEEG brain map to select a specific AVE protocol that will produce pulsing tones and flashing lights with the exact frequency range that was selected.   It’s like training wheels for the brain.  Eventually the brain will not need the AVE and will learn to produce those brain waves at will.

The AVE device enhances the neurofeedback training by reducing the amount of time it takes for the brain to learn the desired lesson.  By incorporating this therapy into the system, we reduce time and total number of visits.
